Filippo Sala is assistant professor of theoretical physics at the University of Bologna and works on particle and astroparticle physics and cosmology. His research aims at shedding light on mysteries of the universe, like the nature of dark matter. He's guided by the necessity to test ideas with observations, in particular he's interested in signals at telescopes, colliders, gravity waves and neutrino detectors. He works for students from undergraduate to PhD levels, by teaching classes and supervising research projects, and for the general public with occasional outreach activities.
