Francesco Conti

I am a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the DEI department, where I obtained my PhD in 2016 under Prof. Luca Benini. Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich and collaborated with GreenWaves Technologies (2020–2024) as an external consultant on Edge AI hardware accelerators.

My research focuses on deploying perceptive and generative AI on heterogeneous accelerator-rich SoCs, combining hardware (novel accelerated SoCs) and software (deployment tools). I coordinate hardware acceleration activities within the open-source PULP platform project (http://pulp-platform.org). I have contributed to the tape-out of 15+ working SoC prototypes and two products with GreenWaves Technologies. I have published 100+ peer-reviewed papers since 2013, achieving significant academic impact through citations, awards, and industrial relevance.

I am a Senior Member of IEEE (Solid-State Circuits and Circuits and Systems societies) and serve as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Circuits and Systems.
