Enrico Sfreddo is a PhD student in Organic Chemistry at the University of Bologna under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre. His research focuses on the development of innovative synthetic methodologies in organic photochemistry, with particular emphasis on radical chemistry, asymmetric catalysis, and stereoselective transformations. He has co-authored publications in leading international journals, including Chemical Science and the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and has previous research experience at the University of Trieste, where he worked on the synthesis of bioactive molecules and fluorescent probes. His expertise combines advanced synthetic organic chemistry with modern spectroscopic and analytical techniques, and he has experience in the supervision of undergraduate and master's students.

  • Current position: PhD Student in Organic Chemistry, University of Bologna (since November 2024), supervised by Prof. Paolo Melchiorre.
  • Research interests: Organic photochemistry, radical chemistry, asymmetric catalysis, stereoselective synthesis, hydrogen atom transfer (HAT), photoredox catalysis.
