Enrico Milano

Full Professor of international law at the Alma Mater since October 2025, his research activities are mainly focussed in the field of public international law. His research interests are particularly dedicated to the role of international law in inter-State relations and in the relations between States and international organizations, with special regard for the United Nations system.

He is author of numerous publications of national and international relevance and in January 2025 he has held a special course on the role of the principle of effectiveness in contemporary international law at the Winter Course of the Hague Academy of International Law. He has been visiting lecturer in numerous universities and research centres, in Europe, in the United States, Asia and Latin America. In addition to his academic research and teaching activities, he is currently acting as legal adviser at the Permanent Mission of Italy at the United Nations.
