Research activity

• During my university studies, in addition to the course of construction of automatic machines and robots, I collaborated in the design of an automatic machine for the packaging of polymeric products at the company "Baruffaldi" ‚¬ in Ferrara;

• During the course of the Degree Thesis in Mechanical Engineering, I worked for about a year at the Cemoter Institute "C.N.R. of Ferrara, where I gained experience in the field of simulation of hydraulic and mechanical systems in a general sense, focusing in particular on the study of power transmissions of semi-living machines. The use of dynamic systems simulation programs (Easy5x by Boeing, Ansys, etc.) as well as advanced structural calculation and CAD3D design programs has contributed to the knowledge of calculation tools, programming languages and algorithms in different environments (MSoft, Unix, Apple).

• I currently work in the Research Area of the INAIL Prosthesis Center in Vigorso di Budrio (BO), with the role of Head of Mechanical Design and Patents of limb prostheses and responsible for prostheses for sports activities. I manage about fifteen research projects, Italian and European, on various topics related to biomechanics and technical orthopedics, dealing with the design of innovative prosthetic devices, in collaboration with various Italian companies, universities and research centers. foreigners.

The main purpose of the various research projects is to study, design, manufacture and engineer prosthetic, orthotic and innovative devices for disability on patients, exploiting the most advanced knowledge in such as bio, mechatronics and artificial intelligence ( bionic prostheses).

One of the main research projects for which I am responsible for setting up the first Italian laboratory for the simulation and testing of lower limb prosthetic components at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano.

Current professional activity area

• Creation of new orthopedic devices: 3D CAD design, construction, experimentation (instrumental and on patient), engineering, CE certification, patenting, registration with the Ministry of Health and registration with the Directory of Medical Devices that can be supplied / prescribed in the context of the National Health System (ssn);

• Realization of customized prosthetic and orthotic devices;
