SURGICAL ACTIVITY

Prof. Elio Jovine has performed in his career, from 1987 to date, more than 9,000 major surgical procedures as First Operator. Among these cases, he has performed as first operator more than 4,200 cases of HPS Surgery and more than 2,600 colorectal surgery procedures. More than 2,100 cases have been carried out laparoscopically, with a broad variety of minimally invasive procedures, such as more than 200 Laparoscopic liver resections, 350 laparoscopic pancreatic resections, 800 laparoscopic colorectal resections. He has also performed more than 100 Single Incision Laparoscopic Procedures, including liver resections, right and left colectomies, cholecistectomies and appendectomies. In 1988 he has been the first surgeon in Bologna to perform a Laparoscopic Cholecistectomy and in 1989 the first to perform a Laparoscopic Liver Cyst unroofing. He has been the first surgeon to perform in the region of Bologna a Single Incision Laparoscopic Colectomy.
