RESEARCH TOPICS: Membrane Biochemistry,
Analytical biochemistry, development of bioluminescent,
chemiluminescent and flow biosensors assays for metabolites and
enzymes, chemical and bacterial contamination in foods and air.
Bioluminescent monitoring of environmental pollution and
bioremediation treatments. Electrochemical and luminescent studies
on free radical production and antioxidants activities in foods and
biological specimens. Radiolabelling of drugs and biologically
active molecules, radio TLC and in vivo pharmacokinetics, in vitro
citotoxicity radioprotection or radiosensitization studies of new
molecules or pharmacological preparations on cell cultures.
Wastewater toxicity and treatments. Chemiluminescent detection of
explosive residues.
RESEARCH ACTIVITY ABROAD: During the years 1990 and 1992 at
the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology, University of
Granada. In 1992 and 1994 at the Department of Biochemistry and
Microbiology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague.
PUBLICATIONS: Over 120 scientific articles published in
international and national journals and books, 4 patents and one
book.
