Elia Pagliarini is a PhD student and teaching tutor in Agricultural Microbiology. His main research interests focus on the study of beneficial microorganisms and their application to plants and soil to improve the qualitative and quantitative aspects of agricultural production and soil fertility. He conducts microbiological studies on organic fertilizers and agro-industrial waste, aiming at their valorization and application in plant nutrition. He also takes part in national and international conferences, is co-author of scientific publications in international journals, and co-inventor of two international patents.
Other research activities include microbiological analysis of irrigation water and the antimicrobial activity of various materials and bio-polymers. His main methodologies are based on classical and molecular microbiology techniques (PCR, qPCR, NGS), as well as classical, instrumental, and hybrid analytical chemistry techniques (GC-MS, HPLC/ESI-MS, ICP-MS).
