Elena Brianzi is a PhD student in Art, History and Society at the Department of Arts, University of Bologna, under the supervision of Professor Francesco Spampinato. She collaborated with prestigious public museums, including the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, and currently collaborates with the Villa Reale in Monza. Her research explores forms of artistic and social experimentation in Italy from the early 20th century to the present day, focusing in particular on community-based and participatory practices that address – either directly or indirectly – ecological and environmental issues; her work also investigates how such practices might be redefined and accessed in light of the rise of technological imagery, digital systems and artificial intelligence.
