1994-1998: PhD thesis: ‘Structure and function of signal transduction domains: DH, PH and WW' at EMBL- Heidelberg with Prof. Matti Saraste.

1994: Five years university degree in Agricultural Sciences, University of Bologna, Italy .

2000- Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna, Dept. of Agricultural Sciences (DIPSA), disciplinary section of Plant Pathology

1998-2000- Postdoc in Plant Molecular Pathology, Salk Institute San Diego (CA, USA) and University of Edinburgh, UK, with Prof. Chris Lamb.

2016- Associate Professor in Plant Pathology (AGR/12)

2017- National Abilitation for Full Professor in Plant Pathology
