Elena Baracani

Elena Baracani holds the Jean Monnet Chair on ‘The EU as a Global Actor’ (EUGlobA), is an Associate Professor of Political Science, and is a member of the academic board of the PhD Programme of Political and Social Sciences. She teaches the courses ‘The EU as a Global Actor’ and 'EU Institutions and Crises’ and is responsible for the workshop on 'EU Foreign Policy Analysis'. From 2023-24, she is co-editor for the Annual Review on the European Union of the Journal of Common Market Studies. She has taught courses in Political Science at both Italian and American universities (University of Florence, University for Foreigners of Perugia, Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane, LUISS, Stanford University, Rutgers University, Kent State University, California State University). Her most recent monograph EU-Turkey Relations. A New Direction for EU Foreign Policy? (Edward Elgar) has been awarded the UACES (University Association for Contemporary European Studies) 2022 best book prize.
