Curriculum vitae

Adjunct professor, at the University of Bologna since 2014, he carries out his research in the field of Information Technology which supports companies in management and business strategies.

From 2000s until 2008s he was adjunct professor of Computer Science (INF / 01) at the University of Urbino.

From October 1984 to August 2020 he was full professor, first of Electronics and then of Computer Science, in Higher Education. Retired from 1 September 2020.

Training

He holds two PhDs: one in Computer Engineering - Intelligent Artificial Systems at the Polytechnic University of Marche (a.y. 2008/2009) and the other in Economics and Management at the University of Urbino (a.y. 2011/2012). During the PhD period he attended Summer and Doctoral Schools in Computer Engineering and in Technologies and Innovations.

Graduated, in 1981, in Electronic Engineering with a specialization in Computer Science at the University of Padua, in 1994 he obtained a second degree in Economics and Commerce with a Business specialization at the University of Urbino.

In 1981 he obtained the qualification to exercise the profession of Engineer at the University of Padua and subsequently obtained several academic qualifications: II level Master's degrees in Management of Educational and Training Institutions (2017), Specialization Course in Management Information Technology - Business and Knowledge Management (2008) and Advanced course on e-learning (2008).

He obtained the qualification to teach in Higher Education for the following disciplines: Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology and Economic & Business disciplines.

In 2006, he obtained from the Marche Region the certificate of competences as designer, management, development and planning of didactic processes and economic and information resources.

He has obtained several AICA and Microsoft IT certifications.

He was included in the National Register of Experts in Information Technology and Telematics and in the National Register of Experts in Vocational Training and Education, Design, Evaluation and Monitoring (Isfol, 2014).

Teaching Activity

Since 2014 he has been teaching Data Processing at the CLAMM and CLEA courses of Bologna University.From the a.y. 2001/2002 to the a.y. 2007/2008 he taught in Computer Science (INF/01) at various Degree Courses of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and IT Management of Business Data (INF / 01) at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Urbino. He taught also in the Computer Science Laboratory (SIRPAC software) in the Master of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Humanities and Philosophy of the University of Urbino.Coordinator of the tutors in the Active Training Internship (ATI) for the teaching qualification of the A042-Computer Science discipline at the University of Bologna and Ferrara.He has taught programming languages and application software in FSE / IFTS courses, Masters and in qualification courses for teachers.For many years he has taught Computer Science and Electronics in Higher Education.

Scientific Activity

Author of over 125 scientific publications: n. 27 articles in magazine, n. 7 contributions in volumes, n. 75 contributions in conference proceedings, n. 11 abstracts in conference proceedings, n. 3 posters, n. 7 monographs.

Visiting PhD candidate for research activities at the University of Vigo-Spain, Faculty of Economics (1/4/2011 - 7/31/2011) and at the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest (3/25/2009 - 6/4/2009).

Member of the group for scientific agreements between the Urbino, Bucharest and Galati Universities.

Keynote Speaker, Coordinator of working sessions, Discussant and Reviewer of articles  at international conferences.

Speaker at many international conferences on "ICT to support business strategies" in the following countries: Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Turkey, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine.

Speaker at many national conferences, from 2012 to 2023, on Information Technologies, Big Data, Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.

He organized several seminars and meetings ('Doing business in the web 2.0 era') ('The Economy of values',' The Economy of Knowledge ',' From Social to Virtual' at the University of Urbino (2010-2012).

Awards and acknowledgements

BestPaper Award (2019). The scientific contribution 'Agile business methodology applied to Coding' was selected as the best contribution of the scientific session: "Coding, Robotics, Computational Thinking and Problem Solving", Didamatica 2019 Conference.

Awards for multimedia contributions in the "IeFP digital competitions": 'The 2030 Agenda commented by the DADine' (2021) and 'Anthropocene' (2020), organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies and AICA.

Other activities

Certified designer of the Marche Region, from 2006 to 2015, he developed and coordinated several projects of the European Social Fund FSE/IFTS.

Designer and coordinator of the Master in ‘Home Automation' at the University of Urbino (a.y 2006/2007) and of projects in Higher Education on 'Students 2.0 as Digital Trainers' (from 2012 to 2016).

Isfol national expert evaluator of Erasmus European mobility projects in the period 2016-2019.

In the period 2015/2016 he has been referent of the Marche Region of the National Digital School Plan (PNSD).

Referent of the Marche Region of the National and International Olympics of Computer Science from the a.s. 2002/2003 to the a.s. 2007/2008.

Head and coordinator of ECDL Core and Advanced Test Center (from 1998 to 2007)

Referent of company internship for students in Higher Education (from 2004 to 2007 and from 2013 to 2020).

Designer, speaker and coordinator of meetings and conferences on Technology and Innovative Entrepreneurship (from 2010 to 2020).

Speaker and coordinator together with the Technological Innovations Councilor of the Municipality of Fano of the conference "Fano Smart City: concrete actions for a smarter city", Fano, January 27, 2014.

President and Founding Member of the Cultural Association "Informatics and Digital Society" from 2015-2018 and Honorary President from 2018 until today. The Association promotes and disseminates, without profit, the information culture in the territory.
