Dimitrios Ziotas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management and Natural Resources from the University of Patras and a Master’s degree in Energy and Finance from the International Hellenic University. He is also a certified Environmental Engineer.
He gained professional experience through internships at Waste Management of Western Macedonia and Edil Hellas S.A., where he analyzed waste data, managed dashboards, coordinated collection processes, and supported collaborations with local municipalities.
Through the Pan-European Seal Programme at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), he contributed to energy and water monitoring and proposed efficiency improvements. At the European Patent Office’s Chief Sustainability Office, he supported sustainability reporting, emissions monitoring, and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
He is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Candidate at the University of Bologna under the HORIZON Europe programme.
