He is Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Bologna since 2026.
He studied at the Universities of Rome “Sapienza” (BA, MSc), Leiden (MA), Oxford and Siena (PhD). After his doctoral studies, he has been awarded prestigious scholarships, including a Jean Monnet Fellowship at the European University Institute in Fiesole, an Ambizione Fellowship at the University of Lucerne, and an Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship at the University of Lausanne.
His academic interests focus on public opinion and political behavior in comparative perspective, with a particular focus on the interaction between voters, parties, and political leaders in democratic elections worldwide. He is the author of over a hundred academic publications, for which he has received several national and international awards.
He currently serves in the steering committees of the Consortium of National Election Studies and the ECPR Research Network on Voting Advice Applications. He is also member of the editorial advisory board of Political Science Quarterly.
