Curriculum vitae

[2023 - Present] Ph.D. Student in Computer Engineering

My research focuses on the design and automation of distributed IoT and edge computing systems through platform engineering approaches, with a strong emphasis on industrial applications. My main interests include resource orchestration across the cloud continuum, the integration of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) for deterministic communication, and the use of AI-based perception modules for real-time processing and decision-making at the edge.
In parallel, I work on embedded security in the automotive domain, developing secure mechanisms and architectures to enable reliable over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates and trusted communication between edge and in-vehicle systems.

[2022 - 2023] Master’s Thesis Project at Northvolt AB – Stockholm, Sweden

Implementation of a REST-HTTP–based protocol for data synchronization from the cloud to factory machines. From the requirements analysis, the main communication models and commercial solutions offered by AWS were evaluated and compared with the proposed approach.

[2020 - 2023] Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering – University of Bologna – Mid Sweden University (Erasmus+)

Models and protocols for mobile telecommunication systems, MANETs, geolocation systems, mobile OS development, IoT platforms, and UPnP. Artificial Intelligence, logic programming, Data Mining and Machine Learning, classification algorithms, association rules, and clustering; data pre-processing. Design and programming of Embedded Systems, Network Security, linear optimization problems, project management, computational models, and distributed systems.

[2015 - 2019] Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering – University of Bologna
