Davide Palitta got his PhD in Mathematics in 2018 from the Università di Bologna, Italy. He then moved to Magdeburg, Germany, to work as a PostDoc at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems (05/2018-05/2021). He also served as Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow (01/2020-05/2020) at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM), Brown University, Providence, RI (USA). In June 2021 he moved back to Bologna, Italy, as Junior Assistant Professor and he got promoted to Senior Assistant Professor in November 2023.
His research interesets comprise different aspects of numerical linear algebra ranging from the analysis of large-scale matrix equations and the development of efficient algorithms for their solution, to parallel-in-time solvers for PDEs, from randomized techniques to data assimilation problems.
