My research focuses on Africa in the politics and history of international relations, and on international development. He has extensive research experience in Ethiopia (since 2006), Kenya (2012), Malawi (2014-2015), and South Africa (dal 2016). From a methodological perspective I privilege an approach that integrates archival research with qualitative and ethnographic analysis of specific case studies.My research interests include the history and politics of state and nation-building, land and agrarian policies, social movements, industrial and labour policies, science and technology, climate change and energy transition.
