Davide Brunelli

Davide Brunelli is Full Professor at the University of Bologna, where he works on low-power and sustainable electronic systems for the Internet of Things. He previously spent more than 15 years at the University of Trento, and from 2005 to 2007 he has been visiting researcher at ETHz.

He has coordinated or contributed to around 20 national and European research projects, including H2020, EIC Pathfinder, PRIN, and EIT-Digital initiatives. He is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on AgriFood Electronics and has established collaborations with leading universities, and industrial partners worldwide. He is also an inventor of six international patents and has contributed to technology transfer, innovative startups, and collaborations with companies including STMicroelectronics, and ENI.

His research interests include energy harvesting, ultra-low-power embedded systems, Tiny Machine learning, intermittent computing, and batteryless IoT devices. He has authored more than 300 scientific publications, with over 7,300 Scopus citations and an H-index of 46, and has been continuously included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking since 2020.
