Associate professor, he carries out his research in the field of agricultural and biosystems engineering. His research interests are focused on the resilience and sustainability of territorial systems and green systems, GIS, smart farming systems and precision livestock farming, innovative lighting systems in protected crops, analysis and design of agricultural and agro-industrial buildings. He is scientific responsible for the University of Bologna of international projects PRIMA " Self-sufficient Integrated Multi-Trophic AquaPonic systems for improving food production sustainability and brackish water use and recycling" and Climate KIC pathfinder "AELCLIC: Adaptation of European Landscapes to Climate Change”. Author of numerous publications in international journals, he collaborates with various organizations and companies. He coordinates the degree course in Ornamental plants and landscape protection and is a member of the Executive Board of the European network UNISCAPE.
