Architect, Full Professor of Urban Planning at the Department of
Architecture of Ferrara since 1992 until the retirement in 2014. He’s guest
lecturer in “urban conservation planning” at the RLICC of Leuven and visits
several universities in Italy and abroad.
As a scholar
and consultant he operates in
the fields of urban planning and design, focussing on urban heritage and
landscape conservation issues. He’s author of several studies and projects in
conservation planning, urban design and cultural landscape protection in Italy
and abroad, As a consultant of UNESCO he recently coordinated the Project for the Urban
Regeneration of Historic Cairo (2010-2014).
He’s the editor of he volume “Historic city and sustainable development in
today’s Maghreb” (Rabat, 2004), the author of “The inventory of the historic
city of Sana’a. A tool for urban conservation”, (Paris 2008), and the co-author
of “Planning
and management of urban and landscape heritage”(Bologna 2012).
