Daniele Fazzi

Senior assistant professor (tenure-track) at the Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna from October 2021. Before he was Group Leader at Chemical Department (institute of Physical-Chemistry) at the University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln, Germany). He carried out his research in international research institutes, such as the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung (MPI-KOFO, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) and the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Centre for NanoScience and Technology (CNST, Milan)

His research activities involve the theoretical and computational modelling of photo-induced processes in functional materials, of charge/energy transport mechanisms in soft materials, of structure-property relationships in organic crystals, amorphous materials and liquid crystals, and in the spectroscopic properties of organic conjugated and hybrid materials. Such functional materials find their main applications in opto-electronic, photovoltaic, thermoelectric, battery and energy-conversion devices.
