Daniela Baroncini is Full Professor of Contemporary Italian
Literature at University of Bologna. She
teaches Contemporary Italian Literature and Writing for Fashion in "Fashion Cultures and Practices" and "Fashion
Studies" at the Campus of Rimini.
In 1987 she awarded the high school diploma at Liceo Rambaldi,
Imola. In 1991 she awarded a four-year degree (major subject
Classical Literature) under the supervision of Prof. Ezio Raimondi
with a thesis in Italian Literature which won the prize "L.
Abrugiati" promoted by the University "G. D'Annunzio" in
Chieti. Afterwards she awarded her second four-year degree in
Philosophy under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Bagni with a thesis
in Poetry and Rhetoric which received the "dignity of
publication".
From 1994 to 1998 she did her Phd in Italianistica under the
supervision of Prof. Andrea Battistini and Prof. Ezio
Raimondi. In 1999 she published Ungaretti e il sentimento del
classico (Il Mulino, Bologna) which in 2000 won the prize
"Giuseppe Ungaretti" promoted by "La Sapienza-Giuseppe Ungaretti
Foundation" at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". In 1998 she
got a two-year post-doc fellowship in "Humanities, Philology and
Literature" and in 2002 she published Caproni e la poesia del
nulla (Pacini, Pisa). She wrote several articles on Pascoli's
work and in 2005 she edited G. Pascoli, Letture
dell'antico (Carocci, Roma).Within the research project on
"Baroque and the Twentieth Century", coordinated by Prof. A.
Battistini, she got a four-year fellowship at the Department of
Italianistica which leaded to the publication of Ungaretti
barocco (Carocci, Roma, 2008). She spoke at many national and
international conferences, such as the "XVth Congress of the
International Comparative Literature Association" (Leiden, 16-22
August 1997); "Canti di Castelvecchio 1903-2003: il centenario"
(San Mauro Pascoli, 19-21 September 2003) and "Pascoli e la
cultura del Novecento" (San Mauro Pascoli, 1-2 October
2005).
She is a member of the editorial board of "Poetiche" (2000-) and
"ZM/Zone Moda" (2008-).
She is a member of "Società italiana per lo studio della
modernità letteraria" (MOD, 1998-); "Società italiana d'estetica"
(SIE, 2001-); "Accademia dei Benigni"
e "Accademia Pascoliana" (2003-). She is the
representative of the University of Bologna in the deanship council
of the "Accademia Pascoliana" (2007-).
