Daniel's pronouns are he/him/his.
Daniel completed his PhD in French Literature (FRAN-01/A) at the University of Cambridge. He undertook teaching fellowships in French Language and Translation (FRAN-01/B) at the universities of Durham and Southampton. He held research fellowships in Comparative Literature (COMP-01/A) at the universities of Bristol and Ca' Foscari in Venice. Upon joining the University of Bologna, he served as fixed-term Assistant Professor in Geography (GEOG-01/A) from February 2022 to November 2025, then progressed to being tenure-track.
Daniel is the beneficiary of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Global Fellowship on 'A Feminist Geography of Women's Industrial Poetry in Nineteenth-Century France' (IndustrySheWrote, 2026-2029, €309,153).
Daniel is professionally accredited by the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).
At departmental level, Daniel is a member of the MemoryLab and the Inclusion & Disability Committee.
