Cristina Basili is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow at the University of Bologna and a research scholar at The New School for Social Research in New York with the project POLEM-WO: “Reframing the Relationship between War and Politics with 20th Century Women Thinkers.” As part of the project, she addresses the topic of war by re-evaluating the philosophical and political dimension of the work of some 20th century women thinkers. Her research combines the history of political thought, classical reception studies and gender studies in an interdisciplinary manner. She is the author of numerous publications in several languages on the themes of power, violence and the return to ancient thought in contemporary philosophy. Former assistant professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, she was DAAD postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bonn and visiting scholar at CNRS and EHESS in Paris. A member of several international research groups, she is visiting faculty at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (USA).
