Since 2023, I have served as a tutor and adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, specializing in classical Hollywood cinema and cultural studies. My research interrogates the cultural foundations of American national cinema through a transnational lens. Currently, I am writing a book that critically examines the classic Western, foregrounding the pivotal role of Mexican culture in shaping the genre’s core characteristics.
Education
I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Cinema, Television, and Multimedia Production from the University of Bologna. I subsequently earned a PhD in English Studies—specializing in Transnational Cinema and Cosmopolitanism—from the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
Research Activities
I have contributed to major national and international research initiatives, such as TRAFFIC—“Tracing American and Foreign Funds in Italian Cinema (1945–1962): Geographies of Films of American Interest in Italy” (PRIN-2022) at the University of Bergamo, and “PerSpace – Performing Space/Spatializing Performance: The Interface between Actors and Space in 21st Century Transnational Cinema” (PID2024) at the University of Zaragoza. These projects reflect my commitment to rethinking the global dynamics of film production and spatial performance.
Scientific and Editorial Board Memberships
I have delivered research findings at leading conferences in Italy and internationally and conducted archival investigations in the United States at the Harry Ransom Center (Austin) and at major Los Angeles institutions, including the Margaret Herrick Library and the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study. I have been an active member of SERCIA (Société d’Études et de Recherche sur le Cinéma Anglophone) since 2017 and SCMS (Society for Cinema and Media Studies) since 2020.
