Dr. Clarissa A.E. Gelmi is a neurosurgeon and PhD candidate in Translational Medicine at the Aanatomy center of the University of Bologna (DIBINEM). Her research focuses on applied neuroanatomy and the development of minimally invasive cranial neurosurgery through the integration of innovative technologies, including robotics, augmented and virtual reality.
She graduated from the University of Bologna and completed her residency in Neurosurgery with honors at the University of Ferrara in 2026. She also undertook a research fellowship at Universitätsspital Zürich (USZ), where she was involved in the development of microsurgical simulators and vascular training on placental models, as well as white matter dissection, holographic modeling, and advanced segmentation techniques.
