Caterina Maccaferri is a PhD student of the course “Health and Technologies” of the University of Bologna. She is a member of the group for Plasma Industrial Applications - DIN.
She has a bachelor’s and master's degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Bologna, obtained respectively in 2020 and 2022. Master's degree was obtained with honors with a dissertation on the characterization of a cold plasma source for food and food packaging decontamination.
Her research focuses on plasma industrial applications. Her main research interests are in the area of non-equilibrium atmospheric pressure plasma sources and processes, with a special interest in topics that bring together engineering, medicine, and biology. She is currently working on the development of plasma systems for the decontamination of food packaging materials.
