Short Bio

I am a Ph.D. student for the XL cycle in Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures: Diversity and Inclusion. I am enrolled in the EDGES curriculum, which is focused on Women’s and Gender Studies.

My work is supervised by Prof. Serena Baiesi and Prof. Maurizio Ascari and concerns English literature, with particular reference to the production of novels by English women writers of Gothic fiction in the Romantic period and during the Golden Age of detective fiction. My project also aims to pursue the study of specific buildings, the popular abbeys of the Gothic novel, to trace their evolution and transformation into country houses and the significant role they play in the Golden Age crime novel.

I hold a Master’s degree in Modern, Comparative and Postcolonial Literatures, which I completed in 2023, and a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, which I completed in 2021.

In 2022 I was awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to study at the University of Leipzig (Germany), where I stayed for six months.
