C. B. is Professor of French Literature and coordinator of
the PhD Program on Francofone Literatures at the University of
Bologna. She has published several essays on pro-slavery and
abolitionist literature in the France of the 18th century. She has
also done research on French travellers in Italy in the 18th
century. C. Biondi's latest essays concern the work of Marguerite
Yourcenar (Marguerite Yourcenar ou la quête de
perfectionnement, 1997), the French culture in Parma: La
Francia a Parma nel secondo Settecento (2003), and Édouard
Glissant, whose work she analysed in Écrire le monde, Rever le
monde (ed. in 2004 with E. Pessini).
