Carmen Ferrà is a PhD student in the program “Innovative technologies and sustainable use of Mediterranean Sea fishery and biological resources” (FishMed-PhD) and a collaborator of the Italian National Research – Institute for Biological Resources and Marine Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM). She holds the MSc diplomas in Marine Science and in Environmental Science (Cadiz University, Spain)
and a MSc in Marine Ecology (University of the Balearic Islands, Spain).
Since 2014, she has been collaborating with the IRBIM-CNR of Ancona developing her research activity which focuses on the analysis of vessel positioning data using mainly AIS and its application for Marine Spatial Planning.
She is a member of the FAO-GFCM Working Group on stock assessment of Demersal Species (WGSAD) and FAOAdriaMed Working Group on Demersal Fishery Resources in the Adriatic Sea. She has authored over 20 publications (ex. peer reviewed scientific papers, technical reports and conference proceedings).
