1998 Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Bologna with final grade 110/110 cum laude

1998-2003 Fellowship in Endocrinology and Replacement Diseases at the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, University of Bologna.

2004-2005 Research grant at the U.O Endocrinology, Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, University of Bologna

2005-2009 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, Unit of Endocrinology, at UTSouthwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas with research activities concerning the development and functionality of male and female gonads in in vitro and in vivo models.

Research activity with particular interest:

- Organic and functional male hypogonadism

- Female hyperandrogenism

- Immune-mediated endocrinological adverse events in patients suffering from advanced malignant neoplasms and undergoing treatments with inhibitory immune checkpoints.

Clinical activity:

2005-2009 During the research fellowship at UTSouthwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, USA, periodic clinical meetings were held regarding endocrine-metabolic pathologies, especially on reproductive issues.

Since 2010, attending clinician at the Endocrinology and Prevention and Cure of Diabetes Unit at IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliera-Universitaria of Bologna, with general and specialized endocrinological activities.
The specialized activities consist of:1) coordinating the clinic dedicated to patients with male hypogonadism. Since 2021 we created a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with urologists and specialized radiologists of our hospital to treat such patients; 2) clinic management of endocrine toxicity in relation to immune checkpoint inhibitors
