Chiara Buratti is Associate Professor at Department DEI, University of Bologna. She received the M.S. degree (summa cum laude) in Telecommunication Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics, Computer Science and Systems from the University of Bologna, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. Her research interests are on Wireless Sensor Networks and Internet of Things, with emphasis on MAC, routing, IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee standard, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT. Recently she started working on TeraHertz communications. She won the 2012 Intel Early Career Faculty Honor Program Award, provided by Intel, Oregon. She won the award for the 2010 National GTTI Best Ph.D Thesis. She was a co-recipient of a Best paper award at the IEEE ICUMT Conference. In 20012 she has been Invited Professor at the CNRS Laboratory, in Clermont-Ferrand. She has been Responsible of the EuWIn@UniBO Laboratory on IoT and Co-Chair of the Experimental Working Group on IoT of COST Action CA15104. She is actually Prioncipal Investigator of the COST Innovators' Grant Pilot IG15104, Industrial Machine Monitoring Unplugged Network (IMMUNet). She is co-Author of approx. 100 papers.
