Short Bio

Bernardo Venturi is Adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, Co-Founder and Head of Research and Policy of the Agency for Peacebuilding (AP) and an Associate Fellow at the Italian think-tank Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). He has 20 years of experience in research, teaching, training, project management and policy work. He published extensively on peacebuilding, good governance, EU Foreign Affairs and development and lectures in several international MA courses and training programmes.

Dr. Venturi obtained his Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Bologna, where he also held a post-doctoral research fellowship. Periods of research led him to the Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, to the Moldova State University, to the Oslo’s Peace Research Institute (PRIO) in Norway, to the United States Institute for Peace (USIP) and to the Sussex University in the UK.

Dr. Venturi consulted for several international organizations, NGOs and he is also a frequent media commentator for different Italian and international media. Go to the Curriculum vitae
