The Agency for Peacebuilding (AP) is a non-profit association whose mission is to promote conditions that can enable the resolution of conflict, reduce violence and contribute to durable peace across Europe and the world. The overall vision of the AP is of a world where conflicts can be transformed—through the research of solutions that are innovative, non-violent and sustainable—into opportunities to promote cooperation that is based on an open and honest confrontation.
AP was created in September 2015 by a group of experienced professionals in the development and peacebuilding sectors. The Agency pursues its mission through a number of different activities, including research, advocacy and direct support to other actors involved in peacebuilding processes. Based in Bologna, Italy, AP has been established under Italian law and is a fully registered and functional entity.
