Beatrice Cavina

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna, working in the laboratory of Mitochondrial genetics in the progression of solid tumors. I obtained my PhD in General Medical Sciences and Service Sciences in April 2025.

My research focuses on ovarian cancer, ranging from the development of liquid biopsy–based clinical approaches to the investigation of cancer metabolism and its role in tumor progression. I have a strong interdisciplinary background and collaborate with engineers and physicists to develop innovative and sustainable diagnostic methods, including label-free and AI-based approaches for tumor cell identification.
