  • Degree in Medicine on 12/03/2007 at the University of Bologna, with thesis entitled "RESULTS OF A MULTICENTRIC OBSERVATIONAL STUDY ON THE PHASES OF SHORTENING OF THE ESOPHAGUS IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING SURGICAL THERAPY FOR GASTRO-REFLUX DISEASE ESOPHAGEAL”.

Teaching activity

  • From 2016 to 2021 he carried out teaching and tutoring activities for students of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery at the Thoracic Surgery Operating Unit of the University Hospital of Modena.
  • From 2016 to 2021 he carried out teaching activities with frontal lessons in Thoracic Surgery to students of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia for AY 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020.
  • From 2016 to 2021 she carried out tutoring activities as co-supervisor of Degree Thesis in Medicine and Surgery and of Specialization Thesis in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE).

She is involved in national and international collaborations and research projects concerning benign and malignant chest diseases.

The scientific activity is substantiated overall by over 100 printed works, of which 80 are publications "in extenso" in international journals with Referee board.

Major clinical research areas include lung cancer, pectus excavatum, thymus disease, lung transplantation.

As far as translational research related to lung cancer is concerned, the main interests are focused on cancer stem cells (CSCs), circulating cells (CTCs), miRNAs, exosomes (EVs), and genetic mutations, for prognostic and therapeutic purposes.

The scientific activity is overall substantiated by over 130 printed works, of which 80 are publications "in extenso" in international journals with Referee board.
