Surgical case history as primary surgeon:

  • Cataract surgeries: senile cataract, congenital/pediatric cataract, ectopia lentis, cataract after keratoplasty, uveitic cataract, traumatic cataract.
  • Anterior and posterior chamber surgeries: IOL implantation/explantation, anterior and posterior vitrectomy, iris reconstruction (pupilloplasty, iris cerclage), artificial iris implants.
  • Glaucoma surgeries: trabeculectomy, drainage device implantation.
  • Corneal transplants: penetrating keratoplasty (optical and tectonic purposes, also associated with cataract), anterior lamellar keratoplasty (tectonic and optical purposes, after perforation), posterior lamellar keratoplasty (DSAEK, DMEK), variable geometry keratoplasty.
  • Ocular surface reconstruction surgeries: pterygium, stem cell transplantation (autograft and allograft), conjunctival flap, amniotic membrane implantation.

  • Corneal and Ocular Surface Diseases: Corneal infections, Inflammatory corneal ulcers, Dry eye treatment, Conjunctival neoplasms.
  • Eye Banking: Risk of infection transmission from donor to recipient.
  • Cataract Surgery: Genesis, treatment, and measurement of post-surgical inflammation, pseudoexfoliative cataract.
  • Glaucoma: Glaucoma surgery, Normal Tension Glaucoma.
  • Ocular Immunology, Uveitis: Epidemiology of uveitis, diagnostic and therapeutic-surgical approach to ocular inflammations.

  • Collaboration with Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool, UK, on “Lamellar surgery” and endothelial lamellar corneal transplantation. Results published in CORNEA (2023).
