Since 2019, he has been a Researcher at the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). His research focuses on nuclear safety, reactor physics, and nuclear cross sections. His main research interests include atmospheric transport modelling of radionuclides, neutronics of nuclear systems, and the validation of nuclear cross sections for reactor applications.
Education
He graduated in Chemical Engineering in 2009 and earned a Ph.D. in Energy, Nuclear and Environmental Control Engineering in 2015. In 2011, he obtained a second-level university Master's degree in Design and Management of Advanced Nuclear Systems, followed by a second-level university Master's degree in Radiation Protection in 2025.
Scientific Career
From 2013 to 2015, he was a Research Fellow at the Department of Industrial Engeneering, University of Bologna.
From 2017 to 2019, he was a Research Fellow at the ENEA Research Centre in Bologna.
Since 2019, he has been a Researcher at the ENEA Research Centre in Bologna.
Since 2021, he has been an Associate Researcher at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), Bologna Section.
Since 2021, he has been affiliated with CERN (Geneva, Switzerland), where he participates in the n_TOF experiment.
From 2022 to 2025, he served as a Contract Agent at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.
Scientific Activities
He has participated in several European research projects, including FASTNET, R2CA, MUSA, INCLUDING, and SASPAM-SA.
He is currently a member of the international n_TOF Collaboration.
He serves as a reviewer for several international journals in the fields of nuclear safety, environmental protection, and nuclear engineering: Progress in Nuclear Energy, Nuclear Engineering and Design, Annals of Nuclear Energy, Science of the Total Environment, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, and Journal of Hazardous Materials.
