Prof. Gangemi has been recruited by University of Bologna in 2022 as Associate Professor of Surgery through a direct call authorized by the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Research after spending over 18 years in the United States.
He has been chairing the Innovative Surgical and Interventional Techniques and has been serving as robotic surgery program coordinator since then.
His research and clinical interest focus prevalently on robotic surgery and its various applications in the field of general surgery especially for the treatment of various conditions affecting the foregut, the gallbladder and for inguinal, ventral, and hiatal hernias, GERD and metabolic syndromes.
