Professor Pelizza primarily supervises theses in the field of the social studies of science and technology (STS), which:
- are empirical in nature;
- emphasize the importance of sociotechnical and material aspects;
- include an adequate period of study and research prior to submission. Professor Pelizza reserves the right to assess the match of the timeframe with the research objectives, in order to ensure research quality.
Notably, Professor Pelizza accepts and proposes theses on aspects related to:
- epistemic forms linked to emerging technologies (of any kind);
- data infrastructures and their organizational and institutional implications;
- algorithmic governance and AI-related forms of knowledge;
- sociotechnical evaluation of technologies such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, information technology, etc.;
- digital identification;
- the social contract between science and society, especially in the areas of security and ecosystemic change.
