Professor Sergi has two primary research topics: research on mafia mobility ('ndrangheta) and research on illicit trafficking, especially narcotics via port systems. She is also interested in issues of justice and crime among the powerful, especially white-collar crime, corruption, and mixed forms of crime (state crimes, environmental crimes, etc.).
