Short Bio

I am a senior assistant professor at the Department of Interpreting and Translation, I teach Corpus.Assisted Discourse Studies in the degree course in Specialised Translation and English language and linguistics in the degree course in International and Diplomatic Sciences. My main research interests include corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, methodology, news and political discourse and journalism studies. I have collaborated with the Universities of Siena, Cardiff, Swansea and Lancaster. Recent publications: Self-reflexive Journalism: A Corpus Study of Journalistic Culture and Community in the Guardian (Routledge 2019) and co-edited (with Charlotte Taylor) Corpus Approaches to Discourse: A Critical Review (Routledge 2018). I studied journalism at the University of Siena and University of Texas and earned a PhD in English Language and Linguistics at Lancaster University (UK).
