Anna Ciampolini received her degree cum laude in Electronic
Engineering from University of Bologna, Italy, in 1987 and her
Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 1991.
Since 2005 she is full Professor. She is enrolled, at present, at
the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Bologna where she
teaches Operating Systems.
From 2007 to 2013 she was the Chair of Degree Courses in Computer
Engineering at the University of Bologna.
From 2015 to 2018 she has been Vice-Director of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Her research activity focuses on:
- Artificial Intelligence, especially with reference to
distributed automated reasoning techniques and their application to
intelligent agents systems.
- Parallel and Distributed Programming languages, with particular
reference to logic languages and their extensions towards modular
and object-oriented programming.
- Operating Systems and virtualization techniques;
- Adaptive and autonomic distributed systems;
- Autonomic management of Cloud computing systems.
Her research covers implementation, application and theoretical
aspects and is presented in several national and international
pubblications.
She has taken part to several national and international (UE)
research projects, even in the role of Coordinator, in the context
of Paralle and Distributed Systems, Agent Systems, Computational
Logic and Coordination protocols.
She has taken part of several scientific and organizing committees
of Conference and Workshops either national or international.
