Andrea Tilli was born in 1971 in Bologna, Italy. He received the
“Laurea” degree with honors in electronic engineering from the
University of Bologna, Italy, in 1996. On February 29th, 2000 he
received the Ph.D. degree in system science and engineering from
the same university with a Thesis on nonlinear control of standard
and special asynchronous electric machines.
Since 1997, he has been at the Department of Electronics, Computer
and System Science (DEIS) of the University of Bologna, now renamed Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering "Guglielmo Marconi" (DEI). Currently, he is Associate Professor.
Andrea Tilli is member of the Center for Research on Complex
Automated Systems "Giuseppe Evangelisti" (CASY), established within
DEIS, and he was a member of Arca Tecnologie s.r.l., a spin off company of the
University of Bologna, from 2004 to 2016.
Since 2000, Andrea Tilli has participated to important
collaborations among DEIS, Arca Tecnologie s.r.l. and relevant
industrial companies as Ferrari S.p.A.,
Magneti Marelli SpA, IMA S.p.A., Sacmi S.C.,
Ocem S.p.A., CRD – Ducati
Energia S.p.A..
His current research interests include:
- applied nonlinear control
techniques and adaptive observers;
- electric drives and
generators;
