Andrea Serani

Adjunct professor

Department of Industrial Engineering

Short Bio

Researcher at the Institute of Marine Engineering of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-INM), he works on computational design and optimization of marine systems. His research interests include simulation-based design optimization, surrogate and multi-fidelity modelling, design-space dimensionality reduction, and data-driven methods for engineering. Applications mainly concern the design and optimization of ship and marine geometries using numerical models at different levels of fidelity. At the University of Bologna, he teaches Computer-Aided Yacht Design as an adjunct lecturer in the MSc programme in Nautical Engineering. Go to the Curriculum vitae
