Andrea Petruccioli is a PhD student in "Automotive for intelligent mobility" at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. He obtained a master's degree in Vehicle Engineering with honors from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UniMoRe). He obtained the Industrial Engineer habilitation. Since 2018 he is a PhD student and research fellow in the disciplinary sector ING-IND/15 (Design and Methods of Industrial Engineering) at the IDEA (Integrated Design and Engineering Applications) laboratory of the "Enzo Ferrari" UniMoRe engineering department. His research field is product/process integration, applied to the automotive sector, with particular attention to Design for Tolerancing and Design to Cost. He is the author of technical and scientific publications focused on methods for designing components by integration of CAD-based tools, in particular: CAT - Computer-Aided Tolerancing tools, CACE - Computer-Aided Cost Estimating (or PCE - Product Cost Estimating) tools, MDO - Multi Disciplinary Optimization platforms, and tools and techniques for the acquisition and reconstruction of 3D geometries (laser scanner, photogrammetry). Main focus of his research activity is design of the dimensional and geometric requirements of automotive components, with particular attention to the functional, aesthetic and economic consequences, starting from the earliest stages of development. He is involved in industrial projects in collaboration with the main automotive companies in the Modena area. He is currently a lecturer in CAD design and industrial technical drawing at the university and other higher technical training centers, such as ITS, IFTS, restoration technician of the classic vehicle.
