Andrea Cattabriga is a member of the Advanced Design Unit, and a PhD in Architecture and Design Cultures at the University of Bologna. He has been recognized for his professional and research efforts, receiving awards such as an Honorable Mention from ADI's Premio Compasso D'Oro and recognition from the Curry Stone Foundation. In 2013, he co-founded the technology startup Slow/d and, more recently, the association Junto Innovation Hub in Modena.

He has taught as an adjunct professor and lecturer at several universities such as NABA Milano (2013-2015), IED Milano (2014), University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2017, 2018, 2023) and University of Bologna (since 2019).

His research interests lie in the influence of enabling technologies on collaborative innovation and design practice. Currently, he is developing an integrated design framework to embed artificial intelligence-driven sense-making processes in local communities.
