Awards Winner of a Prize of the Italian Society of Nephrology (National Congress of 2001) for the paper "Role of histological evaluation in the allocation of the kidneys of Suboptimal donors ".
Winner of an ERA-EDTA Award for Best Contributions Presented at the 38th EDTA Congress (2001) on "The role of cytokine genic polymorphism in renal transplantation".

Other Clinical activities performed: treatment and care of the main nephropaties, particularly glomerular and immunosuppressive treatments; care of of chronic kidney failure patients by dialysis (hemo and peritoneal) and renal transplantation; experienced in treatment of acute renal failure and vascular access; management of a Nephrology and Dialysis unit. Organization of a kidney transplant program.
Research activities: in dialysis field uremic osteodistrophy, hemoperfusion, biocompatibility and coagulation; in the transplant field new immunological techniques, hyperimmmunized patients, informatics and statistics. In the clinical nephrology field glomerular nephropaties.
