Amine Xhakoni

Amine Xhakoni is a PhD student in Philosophy, Science, Cognition, and Semiotics (XL cycle) at the University of Bologna. She is part of the ERC project UseFool - Knowledge and manipulation of nature between usefulness and deception in the Arabo-Islamic tradition (9th–15th century) (consolidator grant agreement no. 101043939).

She held a visiting position at the Institut de recherche et d'histoire des textes - CNRS (Section Arabe, Section Latine e Pôle Quadrivium) in Paris (February-May 2026)

Her research focuses on the transmission, circulation, and reception of philosophical and scientific knowledge between late antiquity and the pre-modern period, with particular emphasis on manuscript traditions and technical literature relating to natural properties in the mediaeval Arabo-Islamic milieu.
