Allison Sermarini is a PhD student in the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences (DISTAL) at the University of Bologna. Drawing on her background in environmental studies and sustainable development, her research emphasizes understanding the value of urban food systems and their potential to support more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities. Through an interdisciplinary approach, Allison combines policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and case study research to examine the diverse benefits and trade-offs associated with urban agriculture initiatives. Currently, she contributes to the coordination and implementation of the Horizon Europe project REDESIGN, which is working with partners across three Living Labs in Dortmund (DE), Salt (ES), and London (UK).
